BIENNALE CHIANCIANO 2022
06 . 08 . 22 - 28 . 08 . 22
The Chianciano Art Museum has announced the 7th edition of the Chianciano Biennale. This landmark exhibition showcases contemporary art selected from all around the world presented across a stunning network of 13 distinct art galleries and museum spaces.
The Chianciano Biennale is located in the heart of Tuscany, taking place from Saturday 6th – Sunday 28th August 2022. The Chianciano Art Museum has been showcasing thousands of international artworks for over a decade, making this 2022 exhibition the 7th edition of the Biennale.
The Biennale is presented over a network comprising the thirteen Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum in the town of Chianciano, all organised by Gagliardi Gallery in London and the Chianciano Art Museum. During the 2022 Biennale, artists and attendees alike will roam through the galleries to soak up the permanent collections, the Biennale and other summer exhibitions on display in Chianciano. The hundreds of guests are made up of critics, international artists, collectors and, above all, a new audience and atmosphere without filters. The cluster of galleries are located up on the hill of the Medieval Old Town, falling back on stretches of the rich green and gold landscape that Tuscany breathes.
Encompassing over 100 selected artists and artworks, the Chianciano Biennale artworks will be meticulously hung across a cluster of the Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum. The remaining walls of the Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum will glow with a showcasing of seven other exhibitions ranging from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec at the Savoy Gallery to Giorgio Armani at the Chelsea Gallery. The full list of exhibitions and their details can be found on the Chianciano Biennale website.
To truly honour the dynamic talent of contemporary artists, the Chianciano Biennale offers sixteen awards. A grand total of €2500 will be prized to the artist with the judged best work. Others include being exhibited at the prestigious London Art Biennale 2023, Chianciano Biennale’s sister exhibition, or an artist critique written by the organisation International Confederation of Art Critics.
There are no submission requirements for the Chianciano Biennale, the applications are open to all living artists without discrimination and wholly on the basis of the artwork itself. The selection process is rigorous and allows critics and collectors to admire works of excellent quality both in the Art Museum and in the Clancianum Galleries, where contemporary art creates a magnificent contrast with the historic architecture of the medieval town. Longevity and influence are married at the Chianciano Biennale and provide an unmissable platform for artists to further their career in an international setting.
Entry is free for all. To visit the Chianciano Biennale, simply discover the exhibition tucked within the warmth of Tuscany and walk in to absorb cutting contemporary art.
